European Union countries

EU

Moving into the EU falls under the rules on the transfer of normal residence (Council Regulation (EC) 1186/2009): personal belongings and household goods enter free of duty and VAT provided you have owned and used them for at least six months and have been resident in Serbia for at least a year. Customs formalities happen only on the way out of Serbia — once the load is inside the Union it runs straight through to the delivery address.

The region — former Yugoslavia

CEFTA

With Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and North Macedonia the CEFTA agreement applies, so no duty is charged on personal and household goods. These are the shortest runs, usually finished within a day, and the cheapest.

Outside both the EU and CEFTA

NON-EU

This is where customs takes the most work. Switzerland requires form 18.44, six months of prior use, and entry within two years. Norway is in Schengen but not in the customs union, so every load goes through the full procedure. United Kingdom requires ToR1 relief since Brexit, and it must be granted BEFORE the shipment arrives.

What an international move costs

The price comes down to the distance, how much there is to move, and how much of the work we take on. It starts at around €1.20 per kilometre; a full service with a crew, packing and reassembly runs €1.50–1.90 per kilometre. Part load transport is not priced per kilometre but by the space your load takes up in the vehicle.

Customs and paperwork

We prepare the inventory, the CMR and the transit documents, and we deal with the border ourselves — you do not have to appear at customs in person. Departures from Belgrade, Novi Sad and Niš

International moves do not only start in Belgrade. We come to your address for the collection, and when the run lines up with a Belgrade job there is no separate charge for getting the vehicle to you.

  • Novi Sad is about 100 km closer to western Europe than Belgrade, because the motorway runs straight out towards Horgoš or Batrovci without going through the Belgrade interchange — which is why the starting price is lower. Routes: Vienna, Graz, Salzburg, Munich, Frankfurt, Stuttgart, Zurich, Ljubljana i Budapest.
  • Niš covers the south of the country — about 230 km further out than Belgrade, so these runs start early in the morning. Routes: Vienna, Munich, Stuttgart i Zurich.

Part load or a dedicated van — which one?

There are two ways to run an international move. Which one suits you depends on how much there is, what you want to spend, and how flexible your dates are.
