Stretch wrap protects what is being moved from dirt, damp and everything else that can spoil it in transit. It is strong, cheap and very elastic, and it clings to itself rather than to your furniture, so it leaves no marks. On any professional move it is the one material you cannot do without.
What it is used for
- Protecting furniture — wardrobes, tables and sofas against scratches and dust
- Palletising — holding a load steady on a pallet in transit
- Keeping damp out — a waterproof barrier when it rains on moving day
- Holding parts shut — hinges, drawers, cabinet doors
- Delicate surfaces — marble, glass and lacquer

Which roll to buy
Stretch wrap is sold by the weight of the roll, not by its length — the weight is the only number that tells you how much you will actually get round your furniture.
- 0.25 kg mini roll — drawers that must not slide open, cables, odds and ends. It has a handle and works one-handed.
- 2.5 kg — covers a one- or two-bedroom flat: armchairs, a mattress, a chest of drawers, shelving.
- 5 kg — houses and businesses. Better value per metre, but the roll is heavy to work with, so it is a two-person job.
- Black, 2 kg — when nobody needs to see what is being moved, and when things stand outdoors or in the sun.
Furniture takes three or four layers, each overlapping the last by half its width. A single layer tears at the first corner and holds nothing.
Using it properly
- Work from the bottom upwards.
- Three to four turns for real protection.
- Use blankets underneath on delicate surfaces.
- A dispenser makes the wrap faster and more even.
- The film sticks to itself, not to the surface — that is the point of it.
Frequently asked questions
How much stretch wrap does a two-bedroom flat need?
Usually two to four 2.5 kg rolls, depending on how much furniture there is and how much protection you want.
Will it damage the surface of my furniture?
No — it clings to itself, not to the surface. On delicate lacquer we still put a blanket underneath first.
Can I use it for food?
No. Food-safe cling film is a different product. The film used for removals is not made for contact with food.
How do I dispose of it?
It is polyethylene and can be recycled. Collect the used film in bags and take it to a recycling point.
Do you deliver?
Yes, free in Belgrade on orders over RSD 8,000, carried up to the flat.
Can you do the wrapping for us?
Yes — packing and protection are part of our full-service move, and we guarantee anything we pack ourselves.
