Belgrade to St. Gallen is about 1,330 km, with a studio from €1,600. It is the nearest Swiss city to Serbia by road, reached through Austria rather than Germany, and the community here is long established in the textile towns of the north-east.
What the move costs
The price depends on how much there is, how many days of packing are needed, the floor at each address, and any extras. Indicative starting prices:
| Home | Volume | From |
|---|---|---|
| Studio or one-bedroom, up to 30 m² | up to 8 m³ | €1,600 |
| Two-bedroom, 30–50 m² | 10–15 m³ | €1,900 |
| Three-bedroom, 50–80 m² | 15–20 m³ | €2,380 |
| Four-bedroom or house, 80 m²+ | 20 m³+ | €2,990 |
These are starting prices, calculated per kilometre driven. A full service with movers, packing and reassembly runs at €1.5–1.9 per kilometre; groupage is charged by the space your load takes up. For an exact figure call +381 66 50-40-30-9.

- Customs paperwork — inventory, CMR and transit documents
- Unloading at your new address and reassembly of the furniture
- Cover against breakage, theft and road accidents
About St. Gallen
St. Gallen and the towns of the Rhine valley — Rorschach, Altstätten, Wil, Gossau — take most of these moves, with Appenzell and the Liechtenstein border a short run further. Winterthur and Zurich are an hour west on the same road.
Practical notes
The Rhine valley crossing is smaller and generally quicker than Basel, but it keeps shorter hours, so a late arrival can mean waiting until morning. We schedule loading in Belgrade with that in mind rather than hoping. Everything else is the standard Swiss procedure: an inventory with values, registration and de-registration, passport, and relief on used household effects for a change of residence — which removes the duty but not the declaration.
