What to plan for
- A two-day job by nature. Too far for one day, too close to justify stopping halfway — so we load and drive on day one and unload on the morning of day two.
- Schengen after Serbia. The route crosses at Horgoš and continues through Slovakia; once out of Serbia there are no further border checks.
- Tolls included. Hungarian and Slovak vignettes, and the Polish electronic tolls on certain sections, are all inside the fixed price.
- Winter in eastern Slovakia. That stretch is hilly and slower in bad weather, so from December to March we build in extra time.
- Kraków old town. Vehicles cannot enter the historic core, so we unload from the edge of the zone or early in the morning.

Paperwork and customs
Poland is in the EU and in the Schengen area; Serbia is in neither, so a customs procedure applies in both directions. For a change of residence you will need an inventory of your belongings, proof of residence registration or de-registration, and your passport.
Moving into the EU falls under the rules on the transfer of normal residence: personal belongings may enter free of duty and VAT where the conditions are met, typically that you have owned and used them for at least six months. Relief from duty is not the same as the absence of a procedure — we prepare the inventory and handle the border.
Packing and protecting your furniture
We use proper packing materials and give fragile items — glass, pictures, musical instruments — extra protection with cardboard corners and furniture blankets.
