What to plan for
- Two days of driving. At around 1,900 km through Germany, the transport takes two days with the driver's rest periods built in. Loading and delivery dates are agreed in advance.
- Canal houses and narrow stairs. In Amsterdam and the older parts of Dutch cities, staircases are famously steep and narrow. Where furniture will not go up or down them, an external furniture lift through the window is the usual solution, and we arrange it in advance.
- Stopping in front of the building. City centres often require a permit to park a van on the street. We tell you what is needed for your address before the move.
- Bicycles and small loads. A lot of what moves on this route is a single room's worth of belongings, which is cheaper on groupage than in a dedicated van.

Paperwork and customs
The Netherlands is in the EU and in the Schengen area; Serbia is in neither, so a customs procedure applies in both directions. For a change of residence you will need an inventory of your belongings, proof of registration with the municipality or of de-registration, and your passport.
Moving into the EU falls under the rules on the transfer of normal residence: personal belongings may enter free of duty and VAT where the conditions are met, typically that you have owned and used them for at least six months. Relief from duty is not the same as the absence of a procedure — we prepare the inventory and handle the border.

We use proper packing materials and give fragile items — glass, pictures, musical instruments — extra protection with cardboard corners and furniture blankets.
