The road and the border
The road runs through Hungary, Austria, Germany, Belgium and France, and the Channel is crossed by the Calais–Dover ferry or through the Eurotunnel. That is about 2,050 km and, with the drivers' mandatory rest periods, normally two days of driving. Brexit changed this route in substance: the United Kingdom is no longer in the EU, so entry means a full customs procedure rather than a check.

About London
London holds the largest Serbian community in the country. Most moves go to the west and north — Ealing, Acton, Hammersmith, Wembley and Barnet — and to Croydon in the south. They split fairly evenly between students and families arriving on a work visa.
Practical notes
London has two separate charges that are easily confused, and both apply to foreign vehicles. The Congestion Charge is £18 a day for the central zone, 7 am to 6 pm on weekdays and noon to 6 pm at weekends and on bank holidays. ULEZ is £12.50 a day for vehicles that do not meet the emissions standard, and that zone covers practically the whole of Greater London, around the clock. For a move in the centre that is up to £30 a day simply to drive in, so we plan the slot to finish the work in a single day. On top of that, many London streets are resident-permit only and the space for the vehicle is booked with the council several days ahead — without it you are carrying a hundred metres from the door. Victorian houses split into flats usually have narrow stairs and no lift, so we set the crew size by the floor.

What is ToR1 and do I need it?
Transfer of Residence is the British relief that lets you bring personal belongings in free of duty and VAT. The application goes to HMRC in your own name and must be approved before the shipment reaches the UK. Approval takes anything from 24 hours to five weeks, so apply as soon as you have an approximate date.
How long does Belgrade to London take?
The drive is about 2,050 km; with the mandatory rest periods and the Channel crossing, allow two to three days. Door to door is usually 3–5 working days, depending on the ferry slot and the customs procedure.
Do you pay the Congestion Charge and ULEZ?
Yes, and they are included in the quote when the address falls in a zone. Tell us the exact address — the difference between Ealing and the centre can be £30 a day.
Do you run part loads?
We do. On a part load you share the vehicle with other customers and pay only for the space you take, which is appreciably cheaper for a smaller shipment.
Do you move the other way as well?
Yes — London to Belgrade at the same price and with the same service. An empty return leg often means a cheaper date.
Am I entitled to customs relief on returning to Serbia?
If you have worked abroad continuously for at least two years, yes. Up to ten years the relief covers goods worth up to €20,000; beyond ten years there is no value limit. The goods must enter within a year of your return, and motor vehicles are excluded.
Is the furniture insured?
Yes, every load is covered against breakage, theft and road accidents. Additional cover for higher-value items is arranged before departure.
