What to plan for on a German move
Moves to and from Germany come with a few practical details we always sort out in advance:
- Parking and stopping permits. In the larger cities — Munich, Frankfurt, Berlin — stopping in front of the building often needs a temporary parking ban (Halteverbot). Where it is needed, we tell you how to arrange one so the van can stand as close to the entrance as possible.
- Tall buildings and lifts. Many German buildings have lifts too small for furniture. For upper floors that means either an external furniture lift (Möbellift) or carrying by hand, with bulky pieces dismantled first.
- Business moves. For companies and offices we move IT equipment, archives and office furniture, and we schedule the work outside business hours so that as little as possible stops.
- Long distances. Germany is 1,100–1,600 km from Belgrade, so the transport itself takes one to two days. We agree the loading and delivery dates in advance so that nobody is left waiting.

Paperwork and customs
Germany is in the EU and in the Schengen area; Serbia is in neither, so a customs procedure applies in both directions. For used personal and household effects we prepare the whole file: the packing list, proof that you are moving residence (Meldebescheinigung, a tenancy agreement), your passport or ID card, and the CMR and transit documents the driver carries.
Moving into the EU falls under the rules on the transfer of normal residence: personal belongings may enter free of duty and VAT where the conditions are met, typically that you have owned and used them for at least six months. Relief from duty is not the same as the absence of a procedure — the paperwork is still required, and we handle it for you at the border.
Packing and protecting your furniture
We use proper packing materials and give fragile items — glass, pictures, musical instruments — extra protection with cardboard corners and furniture blankets.

How long does a move between Germany and Serbia take?
The drive takes one to two days. Berlin and Hamburg are 14–15 hours away, Munich about 11, Frankfurt about 13. With packing and loading, the complete door-to-door job runs two to four days.
