What to plan for
- Three days on the road. Twenty-one to twenty-nine hours of driving, plus the driver's mandatory rest, puts delivery on the third day for most Spanish addresses.
- Book well ahead. Runs to Spain are less frequent than to Germany or Austria, so dates need to be agreed further in advance — two to three weeks is sensible.
- Groupage makes a real difference. On a route this long, paying only for the space you use rather than for a whole van changes the cost substantially.
- City access. Barcelona's Eixample and the old centres of Valencia and Seville have restricted access and tight streets; we check the address and plan the carry before the move.

Paperwork and customs
Spain is in the EU and in the Schengen area; Serbia is in neither, so a customs procedure applies in both directions. For a change of residence you will need an inventory of your belongings, proof of residence registration or de-registration, and your passport.
Moving into the EU falls under the rules on the transfer of normal residence: personal belongings may enter free of duty and VAT where the conditions are met, typically that you have owned and used them for at least six months. Relief from duty is not the same as the absence of a procedure — we prepare the inventory and handle the border.
