What to plan for
- The shortest EU run we make. Timișoara is a three-hour drive, so loading and delivery happen on the same day and you pay for one day of work.
- Bucharest is a different job. At 640 km and eight hours, the capital is usually an overnight, with delivery the following morning.
- Border crossings. Vatin and Srpska Crnja are the usual choices for the Banat; for Bucharest we go via Vršac and the E70.
- Small loads. Because the distance is short, groupage to Timișoara is unusually cheap — often the sensible option for a room or two.

Paperwork and customs
Romania is in the EU and in the Schengen area; Serbia is in neither, so a customs procedure applies in both directions. For a change of residence you will need an inventory of your belongings, proof of residence registration or de-registration, and your passport.
Moving into the EU falls under the rules on the transfer of normal residence: personal belongings may enter free of duty and VAT where the conditions are met, typically that you have owned and used them for at least six months. Relief from duty is not the same as the absence of a procedure — we prepare the inventory and handle the border.
