Stripping out old tiles is dirty, loud and heavier work than it looks — and it is where pipes get broken. We take the tiles off, clear the rubble and leave the room ready for the tiler, with the tip fee already in the price. We remove tiles; we do not lay new ones — but we can put you in touch with a tiler who picks up where we leave off.

A typical job — a 5 m² bathroom with the rubble taken away — runs RSD 6,000 to 12,000 and is done in half a day. The final price depends on the area, the adhesive (old cement mortar is far slower than modern flexible adhesive), the floor and how much rubble there is.

How the job runs
- Survey — on site or from photographs: area, type of tile, access.
- Protecting the space — sheeting over doors, windows and furniture, and over any sanitary ware that is staying.
- Water and power isolated before anything is broken.
- Tiles come off with a pneumatic hammer, working from the edge inwards.
- Adhesive and render taken back to bare brick or concrete if that is what you need.
- Rubble bagged and taken away — loaded into the van and driven to the municipal tip, fee included.
- Final clean with an industrial vacuum, and the room is handed over ready for the tiler.
Pipes are the real risk
In older Belgrade buildings the pipework often sits shallow in the wall, and a careless afternoon with a hired hammer drill ends with water in the flat below. Our crew knows where to slow down, uses a metal detector where the position is uncertain, and works by hand around anything sensitive. In thirteen years we have not put a hammer through a pipe.
The rubble
Tile rubble is heavy and dusty, and the city refuse service will not take it from beside a bin — leaving it there earns a fine. Every tile removal job we quote includes:
- bagging the rubble in builders' sacks
- carrying it out of the flat, with or without a lift
- loading into the van, up to 1,000 kg
- the tip fee at Vinča, Banjica or Resnik
- removal the same day
If the old bath, basin or kitchen units are going too, they travel in the same load.
Frequently asked questions
How long does a bathroom take?
A standard bathroom — 5–6 m² of wall and 4–5 m² of floor — takes three to five hours. Old cement mortar can stretch it to a full day.
Do you take out the sanitary ware as well?
If you want. We can strip the tiles and leave the bath, basin and WC in place, or empty the bathroom completely and take everything away.
Is it noisy?
Yes — a pneumatic hammer cannot be quiet. We work during normal hours, agreed with you and, where it matters, with the neighbours, and we use a technique that keeps vibration down.
Where does the rubble go?
Bagged, loaded and driven to the official tip — Vinča, Banjica or Resnik — with the fee included in the price.
Can you guarantee the pipes stay intact?
We check their position with a detector before breaking anything and work by hand near them. In thirteen years, no burst pipe.
Do you lay new tiles afterwards?
No, we only strip out. We work with tilers we trust and can introduce you to one who starts as soon as we are out.
