What makes a house move different
- The garage, the shed and the basement. These are usually left until last and are the reason moves overrun. Tell us about them at the survey, not on the day.
- Garden and outdoor things. Furniture, barbecues, mowers, tools, sometimes a greenhouse — all of it counts towards the volume.
- Access and the driveway. Narrow lanes and soft ground decide whether the truck reaches the door or parks at the gate.
- More than one trip, or a bigger vehicle. We work this out in advance, because two trips on the day is what turns a move into an evening.

- A plan: crew size, vehicle, order of loading, and what gets dismantled.
- Packing, on the day or the day before.
- Loading and transport, with fragile and specialist items handled separately.

How long does it take?
Most houses are a full day. Larger ones, or those with a full garage and shed, run into a second day — we will say so at the survey rather than on the day.
Do you empty the garage and the shed too?
Yes, and we would rather see them at the survey. They are the usual reason a move takes longer than planned.
Can you take away what I am not keeping?
