About Maribor

Maribor is a university and industrial city with a long-standing Serbian community, and the towns around it — Ptuj, Slovenska Bistrica, Ruše — are covered on the same runs. Graz is an hour north, and loads are often split between the two.

Practical notes

There is no customs procedure, but Slovenia does ask new residents to register, and for that you will need a potrdilo o prebivališču — a certificate of residence — which people usually arrange after arriving rather than before. It does not affect the move itself; it matters because landlords and utilities ask for it, and the timing catches people out. On the move: the older blocks in the centre have narrow stairwells, the newer suburbs give no trouble.

Frequently asked questions

What does this route cost?

From €520 for a studio up to 8 m³, €620 for a two-bedroom, €780 for a three-bedroom and €1,220 for a house.

Is there a customs procedure?

No. Both Croatia and Slovenia are in the EU and in Schengen, so there is no stop on either border.

Can it be done in a day?

Usually. Five hours of driving with no border delay.

Do you cover Ptuj and Slovenska Bistrica?

Yes, and Ruše, on the same runs. Graz is an hour north and loads are often split.

Do I need any paperwork for the move?

Do you move in both directions?

Yes, at the same price and with the same service.
