What to plan for
- A short western run. At 430–530 km, most Slovenian addresses are a single day of driving, which keeps the cost closer to a regional move than to Germany or Switzerland.
- Motorway most of the way. The route runs on the A3 through Croatia to Obrežje–Bregana and on to Ljubljana, so timings are predictable outside the summer peak.
- Vignettes and access. Slovenian motorways require a vignette for the vehicle, and in the older parts of Ljubljana and Maribor parking in front of the building has to be agreed in advance. Both are our job, not yours.
- Small loads are common. Students and single people moving a room's worth of belongings usually do better on groupage than on a dedicated van.

Paperwork and customs
Slovenia is in the EU and in the Schengen area; Serbia is in neither, so a customs procedure applies in both directions. For a change of residence you will need an inventory of your belongings, proof of residence (potrdilo o prebivališču) and your passport. The quickest crossing is Obrežje–Bregana on the A3.
Moving into the EU falls under the rules on the transfer of normal residence: personal belongings may enter free of duty and VAT where the conditions are met, typically that you have owned and used them for at least six months. Relief from duty is not the same as the absence of a procedure — we prepare the inventory and handle the border.

We use proper packing materials and give fragile items — glass, pictures, musical instruments — extra protection with cardboard corners and furniture blankets.
