What to plan for
- Two days on the road. Seventeen hours of driving plus the mandatory rest means delivery on the second day. The dates are fixed before loading.
- Brussels access. Narrow streets and limited stopping in the central communes mean the van cannot always reach the door; we check the address in advance and plan the carry.
- Institutional moves. Postings to and from the EU institutions often come with a fixed start date, so we schedule these tightly and confirm the delivery window in writing.
- Groupage for part-loads. On a route this long, paying only for the space you use makes a real difference.

Paperwork and customs
Belgium is in the EU and in the Schengen area; Serbia is in neither, so a customs procedure applies in both directions. For a change of residence you will need an inventory of your belongings, proof of residence registration or de-registration, and your passport.
Moving into the EU falls under the rules on the transfer of normal residence: personal belongings may enter free of duty and VAT where the conditions are met, typically that you have owned and used them for at least six months. Relief from duty is not the same as the absence of a procedure — we prepare the inventory and handle the border.
Packing and protecting your furniture
We use proper packing materials and give fragile items — glass, pictures, musical instruments — extra protection with cardboard corners and furniture blankets.
